There are two programme options:

• 1:1 BigLaw Academy — weekly 1:1 coaching with Gordon, on either a 8-week or 4-week basis. Each week I have specific materials I want to go through with you. I will also work closely with my coachees to review their applications.

• Part-Time BigLaw Academy — an immersive, self-paced online course tailored to aspiring lawyers who want to learn everything you must know about training contract applications and interviews at your own pace. It also has both 8-week and 4-week options.

Depending on whether you have enrolled into the 8-week or 4-week programme, You will be given a comprehensive set of materials (e.g. slide decks, additional guides and master cheatsheets) for each week’s coaching session.

For those who are accepted for the 1:1 BigLaw Academy, depending on your CV and application experience, I will tailor each session to your unique needs and focus on your areas of weakness. After the programme, I will continue to have ad-hoc coaching calls with you on an as-needed basis to monitor your application process. I will also offer ad-hoc application reviews and interview support to all the alumni of the Full-Time BigLaw Academy (until one day, either you secure your dream job, or you tell me you don’t want to get that job anymore!). I will start as your coach and stay as your mentor.

The 8-week programme is more for:

• those who want to learn how to build a great legal profile and how to present themselves as an all-rounded candidate in an application; and

• those who are more new to the application/interview process. 

On the other hand, the 4-week fast track programme is best suited for:

• those have a good understanding of and know exactly how to sell their experiences; and

• those who already have decent application experience and drafting skills, but want to learn all the application and interview techniques to get their dream job.

The application for BigLaw Academy may be closed occasionally when places are filled up.

For the 1:1 programme, given its demand and that the coaching is solely delivered by me, I cannot guarantee an immediate start and you are highly encouraged to apply at least a month in advance of your intended start date to avoid disappointment.

Since the introduction of the BigLaw Academy, we have been coaching a wide range of people from those who are in the first year of their law school to paralegals and career changers wishing to get a training contract at big law firms.

Absolutely. Many law graduates and paralegals have also joined the 8-week BigLaw Academy. The 8-week course is perfect for you to understand where your CV stands among your peers, what steps you can take right now, how to get past the application stage, secure interviews and get closer to your dream job.

Yes. We offer a 4-week fast tracked BigLaw Academy programme to those who have some experience in writing applications, but still haven’t managed to get an offer. The 4-week course focuses exclusively on helping you write a killer cover letter, draft a number of high-quality applications, as well as prepare for online tests, video interviews and assessment centres.

Yes. Our coaching programme is quite different from other services. I have created a structured system that aims at equipping you with all the knowledge and skills you need to build an all-rounded CV, pitch your past experiences and curate your own story in a way that appeals to recruiters and law firms.

This programme is more than just getting a training contract and will help you develop the right mindset, CV and interview skills to build a truly international legal career.

Yes. In fact, many of the same considerations regarding training contract applications also apply when applying for a solicitor apprenticeship (e.g. the application questions they typically ask, the use of online tests, video interviews and assessment centre). I will also adapt the course materials to your unique needs and help you pitch your experience to graduaate recruitment in order to secure your solicitor apprenticeship offer.
