Frequently Asked Questions

  • Depending on whether you have enrolled into the 8-week or 4-week programme, I have prepared a comprehensive set of materials (e.g. slide decks, additional guides and master cheatsheets) for each week’s coaching session. Depending on your CV and application experience, I will tailor each session to your unique needs and areas of weakness.

    After the programme, I will continue to have ad-hoc coaching calls with you on an as-needed basis to monitor your application process. I will also offer ad-hoc application reviews and interview support to all the alumni of BigLaw Academy (until one day, either you secure your dream job, or you tell me you don’t want to get that job anymore!)

  • The application for BigLaw Academy is genreally open all year round.

    Yet, given the demand for this programme and that the coaching is solely delivered by me, I cannot guarantee an immediate start and you are highly encouraged to apply at least a month in advance of your intended start date to avoid disappointment.

  • No, the earlier you start learning how to improve your CV and understand the application process the better. In fact, the 8-week programme is perfect for students who are currently in law school or those who want to take their job applications more seriously but don’t know where to start (regardless of what stage of the journey you’re at).

    Since the introduction of the BigLaw Academy, we have been coaching a wide range of people from those who are in the first year of their law school to paralegals and career changers wishing to get a training contract at big law firms.

  • The 8-week programme is more for those who want to learn how to build a great legal profile, how to present themselves as an all-rounded candidate in an application and who are more new to the application/interview process. 

    On the other hand, the 4-week fast track programme is best suited for those who already have decent work and application experience, so they can just learn all the application and interview techniques to get their dream job.

  • Yes — absolutely. While my personal story is that of an international student, the strategies and frameworks I teach work for any aspiring lawyer who feels the odds are stacked against them. I have worked with students from Russell Group and non-Russell Group universities, domestic and international candidates, recent graduates and mature applicants, and career changers from completely different industries.   • Yes. Our coaching programme is quite different from other services.
