Frequently Asked Questions

  • There are two programme options:

    • 1:1 BigLaw Academy — weekly 1:1 coaching with Gordon on a 8 or 4-week basis. Each week I have specific materials I want to go through with you. I will also work closely with my coachees to review their applications and prepare for interviews. You will be given a comprehensive set of materials (e.g. slide decks, additional guides and master cheatsheets) for each week’s coaching session.

    • Part-Time BigLaw Academy — an immersive, self-paced online course tailored to aspiring lawyers who want to learn everything you must know about training contract applications and interviews at your own pace.

    For those who are accepted for the 1:1 BigLaw Academy™, depending on your CV and application experience, I will tailor each session to your unique needs and focus on your areas of weakness. After the programme, I will continue to have free coaching calls with you on an as-needed basis to monitor your application process. I will also offer free application reviews and interview support to all the alumni of the BigLaw Academy™ (until one day, either you secure your dream job, or you tell me you don’t want to get that job anymore!). I will start as your coach and stay as your mentor.

  • The 8-week programme is for:

    • those who want to learn how to build a great legal profile and how to present themselves as an all-rounded candidate in an application; and

    • those who are more new to the application/interview process. 

    On the other hand, the 4-week fast track programme is best suited for:

    • those have a good understanding of and know exactly how to sell their experiences; and

    • those who already have decent application experience and drafting skills, but want to learn all the application and interview techniques to get their dream job.

  • The application for BigLaw Academy™ may be closed occasionally when places are filled up.

    For the 1:1 programme, given its demand and that the coaching is solely delivered by me, I cannot guarantee an immediate start and you are highly encouraged to apply at least a month in advance of your intended start date to avoid disappointment.
